FS#661 - Restore Silk theme or add to repositories
Would it be possible to feature ‘Silk’ as an installable theme? There has been an update called ‘Silk and lots of colors’ but that can be added later– the original silk would be enough to attract more users and or testers. That way, Elive will not be ‘just another distro with enlightenment’, but it will be known as the ‘greatest looking distro with enlightenment, with all the bells* and whistles**!! (i am referring to ecomorph, of course).
This way we can encourage people to donate, because it is one-of-a-kind :)
(The boot-up process of ‘Silk’ has the prettier plymouth screen, IMNSHO. i would switch boot messages off, the office could be on fire, and fire trucks and ambulances all around, people would be yelling, HEY there’s a man in here staring at his computer!!)

If you have it to your .e/e17/themes it should be saved among upgrades (not tested, if is not just tell me)
I was able to install avduma's latest. But although he was able to do a wonderful job, it is not a complete package (no plymouth animated boot), so I decided to trace back to the original, and if I remember correctly, can be installed directly from exchange.enlightenment.org.
I went to that site called exchange, but it has been neglected since there was no more support for entrance themes and e17, period. Maybe it has been archived somewhere, and like the Dead Sea scrolls, can only be retrieved from an archive backup.
So Thana, care to trace it back to the source? If you want to revive interest in elive among new Linux users, and revive interest in enlightenment for users who appreciate aesthetics in their machines, the next release will bring back the one and only SILK as the default theme instead of looking like one hundred other desktops with the 'dark' theme; that is why I stayed with e17 instead of upgrading. I even ignored the other wannabees like Bodhi and Sparky. I plan to install elive AGAIN when I get my next laptop soon =]

In its current form I think it's "Black and white"–I can no longer source the original, and this is a snapshot http://imur.com/a/skvTQ and this is Duma's final update
I also went through the torrent of older Elive releases and that is where I saw it again. I will try and retrieve the original there, but it will take time. No stress, Thana. It is not an issue but more like a "nice to have" not a "must have".
