FS#690 - Elive Beta boots to black screen

Hi,

I downloaded Elive beta (2.9.94) usb image, and booted it on a HP uefi enabled haswell laptop (most other components a intel ones). I am greeted with a black screen.

It mentions Xeon but I promise, its a Haswell :-D I’m sure you will need more logs to track the issue. Just let me know where to find them (Ctrl-Alt-F2) gives me a prompt.

Thanks for the report, this is a Intel graphic card, can you tell me if the "graphical problems" or failsafe boot option makes it to boot correctly?

Looks like it has something to do with OpenGL. If I have hardware acceleration disabled at the initial configuration, I do not get the black screen upon login. If I even enable it back, I get the black screen back!

Yeah this makes sense, thats because the drivers used in the last versions of elive can be old for your computer, then you can just use Elive without the hardware-acceleration mode enabled (you can use composite with software mode in any case), for having gl mode you will need to wait for next versions after the 3.0 release
