Good idea, I implemented it in a similar way:
* 10 times are needed to remove it (but it removes it forever, so 10 times should be ok)
* instead of removing, it shows up in a third of second (good to the user know that it exist and also like a way to know that the tool is working and waiting for your action)
* the popup is entirely removed in the moment of the shot
