When installing on a HP Pavilion dv6000, sl-modem-daemon (and sl-modem-modules-KERNEL) gets installed, and they mess up the fine tune process.

Sometimes it just freezes and goes no further but sometimes it produces a kernel oops.

I’ve removed the sl-modem-daemon and modules since I have no use for it (and I cannot turn off the modem in the bios of the laptop).
And now the fine tune just completed.

(a newcomer might not realize what to do to make it work and then give up on the installation)

After install with elive-compiz 1.9.40 it starts the fine tunning and it gets so far and i get Error: module slamr does not exist in proc/modules.Have tried several times to fine tune but the same error.

ath9k driver missing (wireless driver for atheros based card in a eeepc n10j).

ext4 filesystem isn’t known yet...

Firefox 3.5 isn’t available yet!!

Version 1.9.44 , mode installed , system buttons to shutdown, restart, do not work , in Live CD mode, do well.

After upgrading from 1.9.51 to 1.9.52 the Screenresolution was set too high.
-I’ve used the Upgrade-Elive tool.
-I tried changing the resoultion back to 1280×1024 by using both: The tool provided in Elpanel “xconfigurator” and also the Enlightenment Configuration.

-Elpanel’s Tool xconfigurator seems to be doing nothing.
-Enlightenment Configuration returned an Errormessage, telling X-Server is missing XRandR.

After installing 1.9.54 I found that Synaptic is missing!
I simply installed it via “apt-get install synaptic”. But I really wonder why Synaptic isn’t installed by default. All elive-dev Versions before came with Synaptic installed by default.

When I tried to boot Elive in live mode in my Dell InspironMini 1012 netbook, Xorg couldn’t start. and give that eror.

Something related to bluetooth causes the machine to halt on startup. I have had to disable bluetooth on all the Dell laptops I have tried to run Elive 2.0 with. I have tried with Dell Precision M2400 and Latitude 6400.

Brasero is unable to copy CDs. Once it is done reading the source CD, it says it cannot eject the CD and so ejecting it manually and putting in the destination CD doesn’t do anything because the operation has failed.

After much difficulty and with help from Than, I was finally able to install Topaz. Everything “seems” perfect, EXCEPT when I click on Wallpaper, every time, that very action freezes TOPAZ totally. Only way I can get out is forced, hard shut down as ctrl, alt, delete, K & X do not work.

I have many wallpapers I wish to use with slideshow to alternate my desktop and this is a major turnoff and worries that other parts of the menu might not be stable. Please check this and advise. Hi, i have made a first installation, with the install code that i have received by mail. When i try to reinstall elive with my liveCD, the program tell my that the install code is not correct !
For my first install my code was “abd7b4367”. If i try to reinstall, i get a new code, for that my install code program received by mail don’t work anymore. What can i do ?

yesterday 13march ipaid for the installer module,but when it started to erase my hd it freezes,so i had to restart the procedure,it wanted the installer module,so i paid again. the same incident occured.so now i have 2 problem =(1)=i was unable to find where to email for my money back.or (2) how to get the installer without paying again. please tell me what to do. i was installing topaz.

With the new installer in 2.3.1 iso the reiserfs4 cab still be selected ad the desired FS but after install on boot it seems the reiserfs4 modules are still missing!

Version 2.3.6 installed on HDD.

Hibernate are not working at all.
When I press button Hibernate the screen become totally black,
only mouse is active and can’t do anything,
i waited around 2 minutes and nothing changes so i restarted my laptop by power button.

PS. I installed “powermanagement-interface” package
and edited “/etc/default/grub” by adding there new line:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”resume=/dev/sda5”

and now i am using “pm-hibernate” (from terminal) and it’s works well but i want do it from button.

Also i want to know where this action scripts are stored i mean “Power Off”, “Suspend”, “Lock”, “Reboot”, “Hibernate”, “Log Out” ?
I edited file “/etc/enlightenment/sysactions.conf”
by editing line:
“action: hibernate /usr/sbin/hiber.sh”

in hiber.sh i have > “pm-hibernate” command.
But this doesn’t work so i only can go to hibernate from console by command “pm-hibernate” :(

If the prior version installed on the hard drive uses the LABEL= partition naming convention in /etc/fstab, both the / and /home partitions should be changed to UUID= or if one wants to risk it /dev/sdc or sda or whatever # blkid from the live boot calls it.

Since i am not too sure about the handling of multiple users on /home I am now going to clone a home partition to test the install.

I just have one problem that is i cannot use the korean keyboard. Even though i have set the input to the korean keyboard nothing happens.

I have tried to install ibus etc. but nothing seems to work. Please help me.

The new menu box that opens with a right mouse click is way to small, it looks cluttered. Can it be resized to hold the sub menu items neatly rather than the scroll bars at the side. (or a sizable window? it does not look as polished currently as the rest of the release.

On a laptop Lenovo ideapad 100S, I cannot install Elive on disk because the main hard drive (SSD) is not detected. Once booted in live mode, the list of detected drives showed by the Elive installer is empty. I also started Gparted which did not see my hard drive, only the USB stick.

I’m opening this bug but I will not be able to follow the resolution since I will not have access to this laptop anymore. It is just in case you can find the solution without my further help and inputs.

I cannot boot into the system. I am having problems moving forth after entering my passcode. One thing that happens is that it goes into “cryptsetup:sda5_crypt set up successfully”. It then processes and will not further.

Another is that if I hit F6 on initial boot, it will go into the process menu. Messages I saw on the thread were:

“No arrays found in config file or automatically.

With 3D OFF youtube even on full screen is OK, with HW compiz/openGL ON, it lags..
