I burned the ISO of 1.9.18 and running the live cd i get to the languages and i can’t click on the ok, it just sits there with the white cursor blinking on the ok button and if i wait long enough it will go into the Verbose mode and then to the resolutions and i can’t move up or down or click on anything my mouse and keyboard don’t work, i have had no problems with mouse and keyboard on the other versions. My mouse is a Logitech LX3 and my keyboard is a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard

Using skype, I discovered the webcam works but the built in microphones do not. The exact model number of this laptop is dv6768se.

Crash with no reason

i have installed elive 1.9.18 on my laptop dell latitude d630.
and E17 crashed with no reason, for twice install.

i have wallpaper with blanck windows who write f1 resume or F4 quit, and when i put F1 i have entrance i relog, and same problem

Is not possible to erase a cdrw device since thunar automounts it directly and only has the “eject” option, maybe fix that in ivman ? (if cdrw, popup to ask if umount)

I’d like to be able to select JFS for /boot

In elive panel it would have to ask the root password only once, when somebody click on the “admin and system configurations” menu, and not every time when click on one of it’s submenu.

I’ve installed version 1.9.16 and when I try to make the laptop enter Hibernation then it goes through the steps and ends up with a black console with a cursor blinking - and then it wakes up immediately and plays the sound “elive has been restored”.

The actual version of flash 10.0.12.36-elive1 is unstable, firefox crashes (like in badoo.com), for the stable version of Elive we need to use a newest (stable) version or go back to a backup

I just have installed the last development release of elive on my dell inspiron 1300 laptop.

Everything went ok except that after the “fine tuning” of the installed system the network connection is not activated by the default by the system when doing a normal boot. For the moment i am using elive panel to access the network connector to connect the card to the internet (via DHCP) or ifconfig in the terminal.

I saw that the netconnector has a “auto-connect” feature which is ticked yet it seems it doesn’t work.

My ethernet card is a Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-Tx card.

How about adding some nice tools to overcome wifi-encryption?
It would be nice not to have to seek for public-hotspots, but to be able to break into nearly each wifi-network to use it for free.

I installed 1.9.21.
Installation worked fine. But after reboot I could not login again.
The login-screen appears and works well untill the system tries to start the “Desktop” But the Desktop does not appear, instead of the Login-Screen appears again and again and again and....

I also tried a login-console and login worked fine! But the bash did not “know” the command “entranced”.

(Apologies for not being able to provide much in the way of technical info.)

Eeepc901, ssd, first ssd partitioned in ext3/boot, reiserfs/root, linuxswap/.

What happens that I can see is the following. I choose hibernate, the system finds the swap- partition, writes to it, and shuts down. Upon reboot, tuxonice cannot find the hibernation state, and the system loses the swap. Seems likely this is normal, since the swap- partition is marked, and shouldn’t be overwritten - still, I am not able to figure out why tuxonice won’t attempt the restore. Attempted to set verbose mode, but no luck on the boot- section.. The init says swap:’huge md5- like checksum’, etc. Attempted to increase the swap- partition, also change it to a different drive, with the same result.

When I attempt to change the theme for Entrance using using the command entrance_edit –theme <path to theme file>, entrance & x will not start. Fortunately I have Gdm installed as well & am able to boot from the Elive CD, then was able to edit /mnt/(my partition)/etc/X11/default-display-manager from entranced to gdm.
This allowed me to log back into my account after rebooting. To get it back to normal I have to completely uninstall all entrance files, reboot, log back in & then reinstall the entrance files & reboot again & entrance is back working. but how ever I am not able to change the theme for entrance using the entrance_edit –theme <path to theme file> command.

Please add this Resolution to Elive :

since the version 1.9.21 i got some problem with a lot of application. Here is a example with gmail-notify. The application is installed but doest start.

package oss-compat solves the issue, recommend to add in the default install

Swap is 1100Mb on sdb5, RAM is 1Gb. Added kernel... resume=/dev/sdb5 to menu.lst. Save- operation completes, restore fails.

Hi! I really like working with Eltrans. It’s a really nice tool!
It would be nice to have the Possibility of translating everything Elive-related with Eltrans. For example all e17-Modules. And later maybe even other Applications?

Hibernate/suspend features are not stable in some computers, maybe the hibernate* tool in elive should ask/warning about this before to do it

I added Gadgets-Icons to my Desktop. Then I found that they have no function and, even worse, I cant remove them anymore!

I added them like this:
Left-clicked the Desktop →Settings →Gadgets → select “Settings” or “Temperature” →click apply.

But I cannot find a way to remove them!
AND they cannot be moved and also do not have any use.
