I’d like to be able to select JFS for /boot

Is not possible to erase a cdrw device since thunar automounts it directly and only has the “eject” option, maybe fix that in ivman ? (if cdrw, popup to ask if umount)

Crash with no reason

i have installed elive 1.9.18 on my laptop dell latitude d630.
and E17 crashed with no reason, for twice install.

i have wallpaper with blanck windows who write f1 resume or F4 quit, and when i put F1 i have entrance i relog, and same problem

Using skype, I discovered the webcam works but the built in microphones do not. The exact model number of this laptop is dv6768se.

I burned the ISO of 1.9.18 and running the live cd i get to the languages and i can’t click on the ok, it just sits there with the white cursor blinking on the ok button and if i wait long enough it will go into the Verbose mode and then to the resolutions and i can’t move up or down or click on anything my mouse and keyboard don’t work, i have had no problems with mouse and keyboard on the other versions. My mouse is a Logitech LX3 and my keyboard is a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard

My Ralink RT2561 PCI wifi-card worked “out-of-the-box” with LinuxMint 4.0 and 5.0.
But even latest Elive dev 1.9.07 cannot handle it.

Unfortunately I got no Idea how to deal with those files. Do I have to switch to LinuxMint for using it?

Im using Elive 1.7.7 and i chose to use synaptic mouse driver, if i plug in an usb mouse it behaves like i am always double-cliccking.
This shows some problems with many program, and menus.
Is not possible to revert to normal functioning unless using the synaptic one which works perfectly.

net configurator works like when wrong DNS entered. Several weeks ago, I missed my dns address on elive gem, and result was that I couldn’t open some of my internet provider’s pages. Now in the development version of elive I, entered the correct DNS number, but with same result.

Can’t get net connector to work in 1.9.10 I try start it it says to stop it first, so i try to stop it and it says it’s not running. The only way to get on the internet is to run iconfig in the terminal and i have to do that every time i log in

Some messages of the installer needs to have YES NO messages:

the message “you have got an older version..” and the other one requesting to upgrade should be corrected.

Moreover, the installer doesn’t identify correctly the version, it tells me i am upgrading 1.9.11 with 1.9.11 while i am upgrading 1.9.10 with 1.9.11

• If you plug a linux* disk, thunar (exo-utils) mount it without uuid=user mode (so root owner),

this not looks like to be very correct, user can’t access/modify files

• If you insert a Cdrom to record it (like cdrw), brasero (burner) doesn’t has permissions to do anything with it,

thunar doesn’t has also a “umount” option but that’s other case

• remember that big problems requires big solutions

It would be nice to add the files for playing m4a sound files:
i was able to play right after adding the two plugin files (.so) to the xmms plugin directory
i would suggest to avoid compilation and take the precompiled plugins

Hi,
I use a line Alice ADSL Telecom Italia with the router “alice gate 2 plus wi-fi NMU 705000 by industrie dial face”, but the internet pages don’t appeare complete.
With Ubuntu 8.04 and WindowsXP is all ok, the problem exist with ELIVE STABLE and 1.77-1.7.10.
This problem happens only with the provider’s modem/router.

I tried to change the MTU on the ETH0 befor at 1500 and then 1492, but the problem remain.

NOTE: on the firmware Telecom Italia the value MTU cannot be changed (the router is too closed and it is not possible make changed except routing rules and the ability of IPTV).

Elive lacks a GUI for managing users and groups.

Elive doesn’t start on my PC.
The image shows my computer screen booting from the Live CD.
I think this is a bigger error, because Ubuntu showed me a similiar error code.
Everytime I start the PC it shows me that screen, then I have to reboot and the second time it boots normally.

Sound doesn’t work

The Ethernet adapter in my secondary laptop is a Tigon3 chipset. I need this module to be able to use Ethernet.

The Dell D610 is one of the many laptops with an adapter that uses this driver.

Cinelerra hangs on start and it’s not possible to do anything.
