HP DX5150 SFF with NIC Broadcom BCM5751 Gigabit Ehternet Express does not work.

The device is shown with lspci but no lan interface with ifconfig

Tried to insmod tg3 module but not found.

Worked fine with GEM.

Hello - I have just earlier tried to download Elive stable and was forced to make a donation just to do that. The download failed because my computer crashed and since I was using a DSL-Linux live cd the link to the ftp site has not been saved. I live on a very tight budget and can not afford to waste my hard earned money for nothing. I need access to the download without having to make another donation or at least return the money back to my account so that I can give it another try without making a unneccesary loss.

I can’t remove a application item context menu. The setup only add.

Elive Gem run in my computer,
but is not possible to install 1.9.14 in my computer (acer travelmate alpha-550 -256M ram), is not possible to choose the right resilution video

EEEpc701:can’t change any options in the installer:
i choose ext3 partition, no bluetooth, but after reboot i got a reiserFS partition and all packages.

No wifi drivers for eeepc 1008ha.
The driver can be found for ubuntu 9.04.

I’m running Elive 1.9.18 Development on laptop Msi VR630X. While running Skype I received a message that I don’t have webcam and microphone wasn’t working either (microphone and webcam are built-in).

This is by far my favourite Linux distro Thanks.

The Bug
System hangs(with mouse pointer disappearing) on my IBM Thinkpad T22 (P3, 512mb ram) every time I use the internet. Problem occurs in both e16 and e17(more frequently here) versions of elive 0.4, 0.5 all and so far on Revolution livecd.

I don’t know if its elive, firefox or just a general problem with Debian and the Thinkpad.

I have elive Rev rl2 on my IBM thinkpad and for some reason when I try to boot I end up with a black screen or a blackscreen with a non-flashing comand promt just as the entrance logon screen is about to load as though the system has crashed at this point. It didn’t happen when I first installed elive but then when I tried to boot a second time after installation it happened. I thought maybe it was something I did and tried to reinstall but this time it took about 10 restarts before even the eliveCD would boot entrance properly in live mode. Anyway I reinstalled it seemed to work for a while and then again just now, entrance would not boot properly again even in recovery mode. I finally got it up again after repeatedly turning the laptop off and on again.

When entrance loads elive 0.6+ rl2 works perfectly, (such a perfect lil distro my battery even lasts 3-4hr twice that that with any other OS) it just this issue with entrance not being booted properly that’s the problem.

Is there something I have to change in the monitor setup, i.e. frequency? how do I do this in recovery mode comand line?

Testing Elive at Amilo M7400, 512 MB about 1.2 GHz.

It works good, but performance coud be better by using video.
Installed at this mashine is Puppy 5.3 (Slaco), here the perfomance is much more better.

Elive works well at older computers like Amilo M 7400, 512 MB RAM and about 1.2 GHz.

But Office solutions like LibreOffice too much bloated for old computers.

Because looking for Beginners using Elive (I think it’s perfect, because intuitive using is nearly perfect), giving a choose by using Elive, if old hardware is detected.
Beginners don’t know, that Abiword and gnumeric for example are good enough for the most office works.

And there are much less performance needing office solutions, i don’t know.

In germany we would say, thats the point of the letter “i”.

For people working more with keyboard than mouse this is a nice feature. I’m missing it in Elive.

Subj: elive_1.9.31_unstable ISO file - Grub Menu is wrong!

If you check the contents of the menu.lst file in the boot/grub folder and compare the kernel and initrd filenames in the menu to the actual filenames, you will see that they do not match (spelling issue with “_” and “-” characters), thus it is not possible to boot the system.
Since I was using FAT32 partition (with grub4dos and the original menu.lst file from the iso) to which I extracted the contents of the ISO file, I was able to boot the installer after editing the grub menu.lst file. I have yet to get the installer working correctly, since the system boots but doesn’t continue with the installer...

I just have installed the last development release of elive on my dell inspiron 1300 laptop.

Everything went ok except that after the “fine tuning” of the installed system the network connection is not activated by the default by the system when doing a normal boot. For the moment i am using elive panel to access the network connector to connect the card to the internet (via DHCP) or ifconfig in the terminal.

I saw that the netconnector has a “auto-connect” feature which is ticked yet it seems it doesn’t work.

My ethernet card is a Broadcom Corporation BCM4401-B0 100Base-Tx card.

Thanks a lot for your help on this and congratulations for a fine linux distribution.

Under this version of Elive Elive_1.9.23_unstable

whenever i try to activate the Audio mixer Gadget it just dissapear on the next start, but what i realized that it does not dissapear completly, it still there but i have to change the resolution of my Monitor to see it on its place. I have 1024 x 1280

but when i move to 1024x 768 i found this Gadget there. (Wierd)

ADSL and PPPOE Configuration does not work. it crashed all the time.

Please FIX this Peoblem.
