to update the System apt-get update && apt-get install e16, everything went well, except that Internet work very Slow under E16.I use WLAN .

Hello!

I saw that Elive miss this Programme which is very important to be used in Universities here in Germany, Student can get connected to Internet just by using this Client.It is provided under Debian, but with GUI for KDE and for command line, but the version under Debian Packages is too old, there is many other new versions which work better than the one under Debian.
Please watch this http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/vpnc/ it will be a very good step to add this client under Elive, and ofcourse with GUI.

I love to see find it in the next stable version

There is some files that are ziped but are protected with passwords, the concerned programme under Elive can not recognize that automatically, i should first start the Archievmanager manually then put the password in the field to be able to unzip the file, but i know it is possible to make this automatically but just one click, ( Unzip ) then the Programme gives a field this just in case that the File are protected with password to enter.

AUtmatic Update manager, its a really need for Elive. I would like to see it in the next versions.

Users do not know when they should do Update, especially New users.

After updating my System today, i get this message whenever i started my Scite it says:

Scite has a BUG, do not save your files in UFT-8 codification or use a better editor like vim! :)

you do not need UTF-codification if you do not use accents or other special charts than used on “simple plain English”

I wated yesterday to watch the World Trade Center Movie by using my Elive the development Version, the DVD Luncher works, but neither Mplayer nor Gxine could start the DVD, it can’t read the DVD, always give faults.In the gxine it gives ( Null ) when i brows to the DVD instead of showing its name.

Confirmed.. there is a bug using bittorrent clients in elive 0.6.7 unstable, using bittornado, ktorrent or even the simple Opera torrent utility, it downloads but in a very low speed, about 5.0 kbs/per sec, while rebooting in the same machine, with another Linux OS download with same software, it downlaods at the top of my line ( about 250 Kbs/per sec ) without any problems.

The PCMCIA ports are not loaded or unaccessible. It won’t read any card.

Powernowd hangs at boot for approx 10 minutes while booting in VMWare.

Confirmed on Hardware as well, intel and amd of via, intel, and nvidia sli chipsets.

kernel module missing for:
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Accton Technology Corporation SMC2-1211TX (rev 10)

This prevents installation on systems with this card.

I believe that support is added for this controller in newer Linux kernels
