If the connection manager module is enabled, it states that it needs econnman to work and please download it.
It would be useful if econnman was in the repository and would make getting online a tad easier methinks.

You said recently that you have found the cause of the bug where teh windwos are positioned in the first screen (xinerama) when looking at something else about borders?, but i still having the bug around, did you commited the fix ?

After installing it on Latitude e5410 and setting up some extra libraries such as mono-complete for keepass2. I noticed that terminology stopped working.
I get only one error when trying to access terminology –help from cli:

Thats it. and since this system is always updated, I also had this reported into the chat room, some updates were made it did not helped.

If you press the power button (which shows a menu option in E to close computer) and extremely-fastly you press any keyboard key, you got a segfault

This can help making it to appear: cd /tmp ; mprime-cpu -t
Also if you add a “drop caches” on that command should help too, giving you more human-time over computer-time

Locked “System” → “Lock”

went away for a couple of minutes came back and give in my pwd in de textbox. After pressing enter it tried to unluck but seems the program went in an loop, this for several minutes.

I was able to switch and log in in other TTY’s login no problem rebooted and was then able to login in the gui.

a back button is needed in during the installation progress

While booting numlock doesn’t enable this could be handy for passwords

Testing Elive at Amilo M7400, 512 MB about 1.2 GHz.

It works good, but performance coud be better by using video.
Installed at this mashine is Puppy 5.3 (Slaco), here the perfomance is much more better.

Elive works well at older computers like Amilo M 7400, 512 MB RAM and about 1.2 GHz.

But Office solutions like LibreOffice too much bloated for old computers.

Because looking for Beginners using Elive (I think it’s perfect, because intuitive using is nearly perfect), giving a choose by using Elive, if old hardware is detected.
Beginners don’t know, that Abiword and gnumeric for example are good enough for the most office works.

And there are much less performance needing office solutions, i don’t know.

I use a partition for / and another for /home.
The installer recognized / as a previous Elive installation and proceeds.
It doesn’t ask for /home partition nor for user creation.
After editing /etc/passwd I see an eliveuser has been created but if I set that a password is required at reboot, I’m screwed because it doesn’t ask to set it.

The installation process of any Jetbrains IDE ends in error. This installation works on Ubuntu, Kali, Arch, and it is very straightforward.

This occurs after unpacking zip files and running the install script.

Today I got an error from eltrans when trying to send an updated version of the g3-dialer messages in English. It says that my translations cannot be recognized as English. I have tried again twice, but to no avail. This also seems to explain why there are no updates coming from myself in the timeline anymore except for a very tiny one from yesterday.

Bug or something else?

I even downloaded and installed the latest Beta 2.9.92 and the same thing? happened to me (Some of these are double clicks all left after the first one):
Right click on desktop→ Click on Settings tab at bottom right→Click on the Look button at top→Click on theme→Click on Basic theme[it has a checkmark next to it]→Click on Elive Light or Lucas since Dark is already chosen→Click Apply button

BOOM the bottom 20% of the dialog screen goes black and the mouse while movable can do nothing.
In less than a minute screen flashes and the “voice” says that “Elive desktop has initiated recovery”

BUT nothing has changed it’s still the Dark theme.

SOLUTION: Before clicking the theme you want to change to: Click on the Basic button in the bottom right→ Choose your theme to change to→Click the apply button.
The screen flashes again but this time the theme you chose is now the theme.

When I click by mouse on desktop near right border (of desktop), menu is showed all, but if I want to show submenu (for example “Applications” it is showed on the right side of menu and it is not showed all, only partially.

Could you fix it? For example show submenu on the left of mainmenu?

I’d liked to test elive’s minimum requirements putting together some of the oldest piecies of hardware i have lying aroud.
I begun trying it out with a old motherboard, a sf2/661fx rev 1.1, which features sis integrated graphics/sis 964l (which is pretty common in old pentium 4 based office desktop computers), mounting a ‘01 2.44 GHz pentium 4 (https://ark.intel.com/products/27438/Intel-Pentium-4-Processor-2_40-GHz-512K-Cache-533-MHz-FSB), 512 mb 266mhz ddr ram and a classical ide hdd.
It looked like a possible common set up for older computers, and i was surprised finding out that there was no way to boot in graphical mode! None of the options given, either in pae or older kernel, not even the special graphics failing mode!
Then i added a vanta 16 (which i noticed in here was a often times used cheap af graphics card in older pentium 4s, as it was the msi nvidia tnt2 riva m64/m64 pro, which gave me the same results as the vanta being based on the same hw/drivers). Despite if i’m not mistaken it was supposed to support 76xx drivers (which should be avaialble in the repos), i needed to switch to the free drivers. It let me choose keyboard language and system language correctly., then when getting to the desktop it gave me a black screen :/ the mouse was visible though, so i think there must be a workaround (i will try to find it as soon as i have time)
then moved to geforce 2 mx200/mx400. Supposed to work fine with either legacy drivers 76xx or 96xx, both gave me several graphical errors. nosense screen resolution (like 600×480) and i was unable to use either the dock or the applications menu. Terminal took forever to open and everything was mostly unusable. Tried again with all the boot options, looks like working fine only using the free drivers options (both with the newer and older kernel). No graphics acceleration available, even if in windows 98 graphics acceleration was available.
Using the software acceleration caused a heavy load on the poor p4, which meant random freezes whenever it had to open an heavy application/installing something with apt-get (and the bottleneck wasn’t the ram or some sort of swapping, never hit 300 mbs of used ram!). Tried switching to e16, nothing changed.
The machine worked perfectly (and same for all the graphics options listed here)under windows 98/xp and debian stretch with i3-wm. Only issue was the sis chipset unable to elaborated 3d graphics for a lack of compatible drivers in linux, but i’ve been running q4os (debian jessie, later stretch, + TDE at the time) without having too much troubles. DE worked perfectly, at least

Whenever I am away from my PC for about five minutes without putting it to sleep, when I move the mouse it decides to have a blank screen with lines on it. The PC then stops responding and I have to force-reboot which wastes time and battery.

I have a Lenovo x201i laptop ( CPU Core i3 + 8GB RAM)
Firstly , i use 32bit latest version OS - very nice
but it can see only 3GB RAM and i decided install 64Bit system
i download latest beta version , write it on USB-stick and tryed
boot… before, i turn off security password to HDD acssess on BIOS
Boot starting and i see a menu ( a few options booting 64 bit system)
but if i tryed anything- after a few second leptop rebooting…

I tried to update my 3.8.12 64-bit beta installation with the 14 updates in “Software 3.30.6”. That fails.

[I do not appear to be able to upload an image file and hence cannot paste the screen snapshot I took.]

The message (in a semi-transparent overlay window) indicated:

“OK” I said to myself, “I should be able to download the 3.8.14 64-bit beta ISO and re-install.” That I do not seem to be able to do without coughing up more money for the download.

Certian programs that are in the slider window “grey out” on a quick restart of Elive. I have seen Azureus and Firefox do this. This is all I know, try it out. Does anyone know a way to debug this? Thanks, later.

Xpdf is not a bad reader but I think they are very better pdf reader now:

No access to my other partitions (Windows partition) for normal users. (Root user has access) This is not really a bug, but in the 0.4 all users had access.

When I put a usb key for exemple elive mount it on /media/XXX with the user option. Is not realy a bug but the user option implies noexec, nosuid, et nodev option. I think noexec is not a cool option because I have often program on my key and is not a security because you can start a script for exemple like this /bin/sh ./script.sh. my proposition keep the user option but remove noexec. more information here → http://linuxfr.org/forums/15/7853.html (french)

Try it out, I get two terminals directly over top of each other. I think some people might not have an “Ins” or Insert key, does anyone have a different default key that they use to bring up a term (x2) window?

The site not works very good since is used http://bugs.thanatermesis.org instead of the real site... for example not is posible to “copy the link of the site” because it stills on http://bugs.thanatermesis.org all the time
Also when you make a login, sometimes give you a strange blank page

Any recomendation for the redirection of the site ?

In Elive (cvs20060516) there is problems with cdripping. cdda2wav is not working, cdparanoia is painfully slow. (To rip 1 CD in elive takes 80 minutes on my old debian install on the same computer it took less then 10 min) Ubuntu-users has reported similar problems.
