Hi!

The auto luncher in GEM does not work. Whenever i insert a new empty CD to burn it, the auto luncher started and asks about if it should start the burner Program to start burning, and when i confirm the task, it did nothing ( do not start the Burner Program automatically ) so i have to do it myself.

i tried to do apt-get dist-upgrade to upgrade my Wlan-Firmware but i get always this message:

Update held back ... ( in German update zurückgehalten ) and i do not know why?

My intel card GM965 x3100 don’t run ok. It’s a strange resolution.

Wifi intel 3945ABG don’t run

The firmware aka microcode for the intel 3945 wireless fails to load (update) at boot. This causes the wireless card to be detected but not work properly. It is unusable due to that nature.

Ejecting of media (usb key) gives following error message:

“Device to unmount is not in /media/.hal-mtab so it is not mounted by HAL.”

my “Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC” onboard ethernet adapter works fine with any other distro. Even in Debian. But none of the Elive it does not work. in Debian 4.0 R3 it worked. if Elive is Debian based it should work on Elive too. Right?

When using Exalt to setup wifi, if the user chooses WEP, the text for the channel selection partially appears, but there is no block to set the channel. Also will not permit user to apply and save settings. Suspect the two are related. I have enlarged the box to see if it uncovers the channel block, but it does not.

I was not able to access the bookmarks on the Iceweasel and I was not able to use the right button on the mouse on my Toshiba laptop

i was not able top open the bookmarks on Iceweasel, I also was not able to use the right button on the mouse to copy and paste. I got a crash when trying to remove the clock from the desktop.
This was only a problem on the toshiba laptop on the PC every thing works fine

When you click on the installer in Elive 1.7.7, there comes a window:

Recieved the below error when attempting to install Elive 1.0. I Have verified that the .iso image file I burned onto CD is valid.

Boot Disk Error when attempting to boot from ELIVE CD-R. I downloaded the ISO file to a CD-R, set boot mode in BIOS to CD ONLY and I get “BOOT DISK ERROR. PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER”. Tried putting it on one of my hard drives. Same problem. Any ideas my friends? I am running a home built machine with an ASUS M2N32-SLI deluxe motherboard and updated BIOS.

Used LiveCd for 1.7.7 dev.,but numerous problems. One no support for English (US), just UK, even though Portugal and Brazil get their own language settings. Also, when I tried to load the graphical system, I get the error (EE) no devices detected. Also, the CD did not detect my wireless card, Cisco MPI350, and forced me to use the Ndiswrapper option. Nice music though.

Inside Elive 1.7.7, the wifi gadget has password problems. It doesn’t seem to like the password I type, I am trying to use a hex key, but because of the input mask, my password does not work (the apply box is grayed out)

The input mask needs to be removed or edited, to better fix this issue.

gdebi doesn’t install anything in 1.7.7 every package ends as a failed install just at the “database reading” 1st step.
Purging gdebi and reinstalling doesn’t fix this.
dpkg works fine

for fglrx is needed to disable atieventsd from loading because it crashes X at logout.

Marvell Technology Yukon 88E8058, apple iMac 20” driver non-existent in gem. Development Livecd has the driver, but no installer.

Users are requesting a updated gem with newer and mac-compatible drivers.

This driver is reported in being in current kernels, have not tested it though.

In my installation of elive 1.7.8 nvidia drivers work offering only a 800×600 definition.
Installing nvidia-xconfig packages and running it fixes the resolution but breaks glx
Seems the DCC is not properly working.
Samsung X10 laptop.

I’m using the 1.7.9 LiveCD version on a VirtualMachine (VirtualBox OSE), with all internet features working, but the Elive Translator just doesn’t work telling me the following error message:

“You need an internet connection in order to make translations”

The same happens if i type it under the terminal emulator. It also doesn’t work if i use it with the sudo command. I choosed on the boot screen the Brazilian Portuguese language, and i’m very excited to help Elive in the translating process.
I’m not using this version of Elive on my host computer because of an issue that i’ve already related in another bug report.
Anyway, i’m waiting for this feature to be ready and i’m going to put my efforts on the translation process.

e17 crashes when trying to change the shelve aparence from insert to plain on 1.7.8. I have Elive 1.7.8 installed on a toshiba satellite A60.

Elive 1.7.2 is unable to resume right after hibernating my PC.

I have only one module from /etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules - nvidia
version of nvidia driver is legacy-96xx

Resuming after “hibernate -f” finishes with black screen and num/caps locks’ leds, that doesn’t reacting on pressing nul/caps lock.
Usually, after spending some time with pressing ctrl-alt+del I’ve soft-reboot, but sometimes hard-reboot is the only chance to reboot.

/var/log/hibernate.log says, that it was unable to unload nvidia module and, that resuming was successfull
