I recognized this Error message on the boot.When i start the PC, i get this on the boot screen.

mount: accourding to mtab sysfs is already mounted on /sys Fault

Hi there,

I wated yesterday to watch the World Trade Center Movie by using my Elive the development Version, the DVD Luncher works, but neither Mplayer nor Gxine could start the DVD, it can’t read the DVD, always give faults.In the gxine it gives ( Null ) when i brows to the DVD instead of showing its name.

Confirmed.. there is a bug using bittorrent clients in elive 0.6.7 unstable, using bittornado, ktorrent or even the simple Opera torrent utility, it downloads but in a very low speed, about 5.0 kbs/per sec, while rebooting in the same machine, with another Linux OS download with same software, it downlaods at the top of my line ( about 250 Kbs/per sec ) without any problems.

The PCMCIA ports are not loaded or unaccessible. It won’t read any card.

From bug  FS#70 : [polish] - some polish national signs shows up as boxes on windows description and in aplication menu which is accesible after left click on desktop.

Maybe need retype this descriptions in pure UTF-8 environment?

Powernowd hangs at boot for approx 10 minutes while booting in VMWare.

Confirmed on Hardware as well, intel and amd of via, intel, and nvidia sli chipsets.

Occurs in latest release candidate.

Sound card not found in VMWare, sound configuration tool states:

No supported PnP or PCI card found. Would you like to probe legacy ISA sound cards/chips?

In previous versions the sound worked.

This occurs in the latest release candidate.

In “games” section many included games are not listed for the Elive menu. Such games as elitare as well as others are not listed.

kernel module missing for:
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Accton Technology Corporation SMC2-1211TX (rev 10)

This prevents installation on systems with this card.

I believe that support is added for this controller in newer Linux kernels

To print anything I can select in Abiword my printer. But nothing happens. From all other applications (browser, xpdf), the prints are ok. On the other hand to create a pdf file with Abiword is also ok.

The eap file of Elitaire is wrong. The executable “Elitaire”, must be “elitaire”

iceweasel crashes about every 1-1 1/2 hours

I’ve installed Elive on an old Compaq P3 @700 Mhz, with more than 128Mb of memory.
The problem is that running as another user than root doesn’t allow the access to the elpanel.

The problem happened as soon as installed was completed, when I logged in with the user created during installation.
The ‘fine tune’ step seems to start, however I’m not able to confirm it does anything, neither if it ends after a while.

When trying to access an option in the elpanel, I get the prompt for the root account password.
If I enter a wrong password, the windows pops up again requesting the password.
If I enter the right password, the windows closes, but nothing happens.

I tried to login as root, and I have full access to the panel (even if I loose all my icons and bars).
I’ve tried to delete and create new users, but it still doesn’t work.

I’m quite a noob in Linux, but I don’t think I made a mistake (in fact I followed the installation step by step).
My drive is a 10Gb, split in one main partition of 7.5Gb for the system, and a 2.5Gb Linux-swap.
I’ve used the reiserfs format as suggested.

Please if I missed anything just tell me ^^

Thunar lost his root privilegue after some apt-get upgrade to umount device. Only in console as a root I can now do it..

Some feature taken from forexample gnome would be nice..

Cinelerra hangs on start and it’s not possible to do anything.
