It is needed to set some extra configurations for when there’s Intel cards in Elive Compiz:

• change mplayer conf to use X11 (or GL is better option?), and set the zoom ON
• Update: set the X11 or GL as a choice for the user (in case of any elive-compiz, not only intel), explaining how to configure it later and what’s the difference between them
• xine: use xshm or gl output (ask to the user too, or better, include the answer of the previous question for selection there too)
• gstreamer-properties for configure gstreamer to use X11 instead of XV
• xorg: set XAA instead of EXA (see deliver configuration for eeepc)
• export INTEL_BATCH=1 in /etc/profile
• set a different launcher for skype (.desktop) that uses: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?s=4417cd748721d80e99c902e2857eb6d8&showtopic=328901&st=0&p=1622441&#entry1622441

.xsession-errors file of the home of the users, contains the logs of the X when they are running, this should be removed at every e17 startup

Use only one power management daemon, maybe disable cpufreq of e17 and use only gnome-powermanager IF is a laptop ? maybe ask that ? maybe predefine selection by hardware specs ?

Hi, sorry to have to report, I just tried to install (with a proven DVD download of E17 compiz) on a 2nd computer, Intel MB DG45FC. First problem was it would not recognize display resolution, I am using Mitsubishi Diamond Digital, wide screen (16 x 9) and factory default setting called for is 1280 x 768 at 60HZ—which is in listed choices upon installation, nor any other resolution including auto? This is a 64bit machine, I have the DVD installed OK, no problem, on a Gigabyte 32bit MB.

I kept trying, over and over and somehow was able to “force” installation after being given a choice to use a pre-existing resolution(?) Install completed, fine tune came up and stopped at: “module slamr does not exist in /proc/modules. Also, internet connect was not able to be made, no matter what I tried so I can make no correction through apt-get, Synaptic or .deb. I also got a notice that e17 economorph failed to install because of some file in libdecorate(?) was trying to overwrite an already existing file. Not being technically capable, I haven’t a clue.

But please, do not fool yourself into thinking the slamr “bub” has been corrected and gone away, it is still there.

Nice feature, as other distros have this, is to see OSD menu with volume settings, as also M$ does have..

There is wrong coding for Czech language... So exept of our “special” letters I see only boxes.. Af for letter with apostrofs ond other pronunciation marks..

After reading posts from users I tried change all the possibilities, but with no luck..

But in console setx keyboard to us or cz works..

Install using LVM gives the error message: “/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol06 is mounted; will not make a filesystem here!”

Created 11 lvm logical volumes thru Sabayon 5 install with LogVol06 as spare partition of 10.gb. Tried to select LogVol06 as / and got the above error message. Tried twice with ext4 and ext3.

Hp desktop, Amd x2, 3gb ram. Elive 1.9.51, Separate /boot partition of 10 gb. Logical volumes /home /usr /opt /var /tmp.

-Lowering default Startup-Sound volume in LiveCD

Don’t know if it’s bug from distro or from my “work” on installed distro.. Well, command hibernate from terminal in root mode works great but from keyboard hotkey settings of from shut down dialog doesn’t work and it claims I have no hibernate able computer..

The system recognized well the charging but when discharging it gives the warning message about critical low battery few seconds before system totally collapse cause no power - about 20 sec... So, where to set it to another value? The measurement of the battery status shows about 30% when there is nothing left.. I have new high-capacity battery so there is no probability about non-linear electricity discharging..

Is there any GUI interface WORKING how to setup behavior of touchpad? DELL D620, D600.. is not possible to use with touchpad, only with joypad - touchpad toooooo slow.. I know about Xorg.conf “tuning” but didn’t work.. And about setup the touchpad to work as a scroll ?
