When I attempt to change the theme for Entrance using using the command entrance_edit –theme <path to theme file>, entrance & x will not start. Fortunately I have Gdm installed as well & am able to boot from the Elive CD, then was able to edit /mnt/(my partition)/etc/X11/default-display-manager from entranced to gdm.
This allowed me to log back into my account after rebooting. To get it back to normal I have to completely uninstall all entrance files, reboot, log back in & then reinstall the entrance files & reboot again & entrance is back working. but how ever I am not able to change the theme for entrance using the entrance_edit –theme <path to theme file> command.

• If you create a new user, it can’t login to entrance since you dont wait that the selector of graphical system appears (at least having other graphical systems in the list like e16 listed in the list of window-managers to select (top-left corner))

I have elive Rev rl2 on my IBM thinkpad and for some reason when I try to boot I end up with a black screen or a blackscreen with a non-flashing comand promt just as the entrance logon screen is about to load as though the system has crashed at this point. It didn’t happen when I first installed elive but then when I tried to boot a second time after installation it happened. I thought maybe it was something I did and tried to reinstall but this time it took about 10 restarts before even the eliveCD would boot entrance properly in live mode. Anyway I reinstalled it seemed to work for a while and then again just now, entrance would not boot properly again even in recovery mode. I finally got it up again after repeatedly turning the laptop off and on again.

When entrance loads elive 0.6+ rl2 works perfectly, (such a perfect lil distro my battery even lasts 3-4hr twice that that with any other OS) it just this issue with entrance not being booted properly that’s the problem.

Is there something I have to change in the monitor setup, i.e. frequency? how do I do this in recovery mode comand line?

I recognized this Error message on the boot.When i start the PC, i get this on the boot screen.

mount: accourding to mtab sysfs is already mounted on /sys Fault

It happens after I make the partitions, then I choose where goes Swap and where goes Root, and so Eliveinstaller crashes saving this in the log!

In 1.9.02 version, while moving/copying files with special character (accented letters - Brasillian), Thunar report error.

After install with elive-compiz 1.9.40 it starts the fine tunning and it gets so far and i get Error: module slamr does not exist in proc/modules.Have tried several times to fine tune but the same error.

“esu datetimeconf” dosn’t work.

In Menu>Settings>Settings Panel>System, when “Esu” is called, the window asking for root password lacks in my opinion a “close” or “cancel” button.
This could be handy for someone who selected the wrong setting to open, a user that does not know the root password, or anyone who finally prefers to just cancel the requested action.

Additionally, the text about Esu when it asks for password is presently :
“Welcome to Esu, this program will give you access to other users providing you have there password.” This text could be improved and become :
“Welcome to Esu, this program will give you access to other users provided you have their password.” (italics to show corrections)

ETK Preferences does not change to show different windows for each of the tabs.

EG: When I click on Theme it should show different themes to choose from, and when I click on User Preferences I should see the appropriate window information. Default tab “theme” shows all the time.

Elive 1.9.22 unstable.

When using elive on an eeepc exalt doesn’t work correctly:

• It doesn’t show the quality of signal giving always minimum signal

• It doesn’t show open or encrypted access point showing and treating all of them as encrypted

Inside Elive 1.7.7, the wifi gadget has password problems. It doesn’t seem to like the password I type, I am trying to use a hex key, but because of the input mask, my password does not work (the apply box is grayed out)

The input mask needs to be removed or edited, to better fix this issue.

When using Exalt to setup wifi, if the user chooses WEP, the text for the channel selection partially appears, but there is no block to set the channel. Also will not permit user to apply and save settings. Suspect the two are related. I have enlarged the box to see if it uncovers the channel block, but it does not.

ext4 filesystem isn’t known yet...

Failed to run gdebi-gtk ‘–non-interactive’ ‘/home/r/Downloads/firefox/kdepim_3.5.5.dfsg.1-6_all.deb’ as user root.

I added this issue in order to know what is the cause that the other options gives you a black screen

To install in failsafe mode could remove some features so if you are able to install it in normal mode it could be better, so let’s investigate the cause

Synaptic does not start , failure in the application.
