When I creat a new partition with gparted on my usb disc, the partition is automaticaly detected and the system proposes me to mounted but gparted has not finish the work and crashes.

Creating new partitions is not possible (for end user).

When installing Elive Revolution rl2 on hard drive (SATA drive), I asked the installer to place GRUB in the root partition (I wanted to keep the NT bootloader). However, my MBR was deleted and booting was impossible (actually I don’t know where GRUB was installed, if it was). I had to launch the installer again and ask to put GRUB on the MBR to recover a working system. So this is not a critical problem, but it can be stressing !

The new menu box that opens with a right mouse click is way to small, it looks cluttered. Can it be resized to hold the sub menu items neatly rather than the scroll bars at the side. (or a sizable window? it does not look as polished currently as the rest of the release.

This is a Bug!!!! try to fix this issue in the Clock, whatever i do to set the time of the Clock in Elive, it get after a new start again wrong.

After installing it on Latitude e5410 and setting up some extra libraries such as mono-complete for keepass2. I noticed that terminology stopped working.
I get only one error when trying to access terminology –help from cli:

ERR<10762>:efreet_cache lib/efreet/efreet_cache.c:1108 on_send_register() org.enlightenment.DBus.Canceled Canceled by user.

Thats it. and since this system is always updated, I also had this reported into the chat room, some updates were made it did not helped.

Regularly I update the system weekly via Synaptic. Everything is running well! Last update was on 20. November.

After update on 7. December I get in boot process following message:

/bin/sh: can’t access tty: job control turned off
(initramfs)

After that boot process is stopped and nothing happens anymore.

This is by far my favourite Linux distro Thanks.

The Bug
System hangs(with mouse pointer disappearing) on my IBM Thinkpad T22 (P3, 512mb ram) every time I use the internet. Problem occurs in both e16 and e17(more frequently here) versions of elive 0.4, 0.5 all and so far on Revolution livecd.

I don’t know if its elive, firefox or just a general problem with Debian and the Thinkpad.

Version 1.9.44 , mode installed , system buttons to shutdown, restart, do not work , in Live CD mode, do well.

The default configuration for the touchpad, the thing about maintain the button pressed, is very annoying (at least in this computer), remove it by default

Option: LockedDrags: true

I tried to maximaized the Window of Synaptic but it looks that it has a bug, try to fix it.

Synaptic will not update everything. If i update lists, and select the option to mark all, it cannot update. (it displays the folowwing error:)

This is a problem of the upgrade of xorg7, well, the more simple option is “upgrade your Elive” from the Elive installer (a new feature similar a upgrade than a installation), it reinstall the system automatized saving your /home partition, users, files, main configurations, etc

For some old computers (like my new old dell latitude c400), the default synaptics configuration not works

It is needed to remove the default configuration of synaptics, use gsynaptics from user instead

Problem : with VLC or mplayer

I can switch a video to fullscreen mode, but, i can’t switch back to normal size, i have a black screen, with all possible video output (XV, X11, OpenGL.....)

I found a temporary solution :

Open a video normaly with mplayer, then do ALT + Right Click, fullscreen

There, E17 will switch the window in fullscreen, mplayer doesn’t anything and to switch back in normal size, do the same operation, ALT = Right Click, uncheck fullscreen.

This problem appears since 0.6.7 from memomry.

The Swiss French keymap dont work.
it does not work on live and installed mode. I can change.

If you put the laptop to suspend, when you put it back you cannot browse shared folders, this happens on my acer-aspire-one laptop in live mode at least

Maybe there’s a post-suspend hook/script that needs to be added for reload sambasomething ?

2.6.7.15 kernel IBM T no hibernate (due too old kernel/no partition prepared after install (no notice)).Suspend works strange.Sometimes wakes up/sometimes hangs within suspending/waking.Hibernate tries to work but only beeps after insertin IBM_ACPI - should be inserted automaticaly when install recognized IBM ntb.LID switch only power off the lamp,not display.Power button doesn’t work-not recognized by acpi.No rules to run dimmer of LCD (battery/AC).. Some plugin/module would be fine..

When I click by mouse on desktop near right border (of desktop), menu is showed all, but if I want to show submenu (for example “Applications” it is showed on the right side of menu and it is not showed all, only partially.

Could you fix it? For example show submenu on the left of mainmenu?

There are strange values in a box on the right.
As far as I know these values should look more like 60 Hz, 70 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz...

You may also notice that there’s no marked refresh frequency on the right although 77 Hz (it really stands for 85 Hz) was just selected and saved (it’s what I mean in report #542)

Ssh agent is unreacheable from ssh-add
no matter if started in a terminal, or in cli, ssh-add always give and unreacheable ssh-agent error.

Two sound card configuration:
1.
I have in desktop PC two soundcards.After configuring them in elpanel,choosing one of them,I’m able to use sound through the choosen one. BUT after few restarts, the config autoswitch to the second one which means audio is OK,but play from the second sound card EVEN I have chosen other one.The audio mixer autoswitch to the proper features which support the sound card now playing.

2.
If I want to use one sound car for sounds and the other for forexample skype,there is something missing.. In XMMS I’m able to choose ONLY one soundcard,even I have two.I can choose the card which is set from elpanel..

This workaround in needed for these models 3400
