the e17 transparency should be reenabled as soon as possible, w/o transparency the quality of the desktop drops alot.

if the user select the “static” mode, the entry’s should be writed automatically with the actual ip variables (the ones done by dhcp or the actual used)

It is needed a nice search utility for the menus and/or the file-manager

After loading in live mode or after install with Russian (Ukranian,Bulgarian and so) as language for system. We need to Elive automaticaly change default font to Sans. It is needed for them who using cyrillics. Without this we can see only squares Instead of letters somewhere (in control panel for example).

How about adding some nice tools to overcome wifi-encryption?
It would be nice not to have to seek for public-hotspots, but to be able to break into nearly each wifi-network to use it for free.

Assign some default applications for the firefox files (like .deb downloaded files, .edj, etc)

It would be nice to have a multimedia manager on the style of itunes added to elive repositories:
Its a while i’ve been using Songbird and it really works amazingly, much better than rhythmbox
At the moment is available as a tar.gz, but is a precompiled executable, just depack in /usr/local/bin/ and you are good to go, but it would be nice to have it added as a .deb to elive repositories.

There is a simple instruction how to add this Driver and the Printer to Debian, but it did not work for me well, i had to start cups whenever i want to print out somthing, and under the superuser mode. This is the Link for it :

When asking to create a user - it might be a good idea to ask if the installer should create more users.

This could be useful if it was to be installed on a family computer.

(Something along the lines of the request to add more partitions when partitioning the hard disk)

It is needed to set some extra configurations for when there’s Intel cards in Elive Compiz:

• change mplayer conf to use X11 (or GL is better option?), and set the zoom ON
• Update: set the X11 or GL as a choice for the user (in case of any elive-compiz, not only intel), explaining how to configure it later and what’s the difference between them
• xine: use xshm or gl output (ask to the user too, or better, include the answer of the previous question for selection there too)
• gstreamer-properties for configure gstreamer to use X11 instead of XV
• xorg: set XAA instead of EXA (see deliver configuration for eeepc)
• export INTEL_BATCH=1 in /etc/profile
• set a different launcher for skype (.desktop) that uses: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?s=4417cd748721d80e99c902e2857eb6d8&showtopic=328901&st=0&p=1622441&#entry1622441

Could be nice and not very hard to implement an automatic tracer reporter, this means, a kind of pre-launcher for the interface (bash that calls the python code) with waiting error trace messages, if there’s these messages, they will be send to... somewhere, in some way

I would like to request that 802.1x authentification be added to the wireless network connector utility. The company where I work uses this mode of wireless authentification. It would be a great convenience to me at work, as I have to use a wired connection otherwise.

As I understand it, the driver and firmware are available as Debian modules as well.

If you use VM-ware then you need to have the kernel-headers on your system for compiling the needed modules.

It would be nice to have a package “kernel-headers” to point to the current headers for the current kernel, that you can install in Synaptic - instead of having to hunt down the source for the current kernel version, then use make-kpkg kernel_headers to create a kernel-headers package.

If this already exists - then please point me to it.

Nice feature, as other distros have this, is to see OSD menu with volume settings, as also M$ does have..

Elive cant mannage this video board, msi5200le (nvidia), no way to make it work in higher resolution than 640×480

My tv card do not work whith tvtime and any other program, I installed tvtime in debian lenny 5.0 and it got work but in elive unstable do not work, my tv card is a pinnacle whith chip philips, if someone can helpme whit this bug it is important to me.
