they need to be changed with higher res ones..

net-configurator works good, but it should put default netmasks when an ip is entered. unfortunately i was unable to lease an ip from my ap using dhcp, either via exalt either via net-configurator.

I think the default governor should be ondemand instead of performance. in this way the user won’t be scared of the full power fan always running

iceweasel shows some websites in memory when trying to write a website, it shouldnt have any sign of previous use. it would be also nice to have the fullscreen plugin available, on eeepc it works really nicely!

Even if i deselect the “show label” button a name of the icon is always shown with init-ng.

I have three operating systems on my machine. The 1st one is Windows Vista, the 2nd one is Windows XP and the 3rd one is eLive. eLive has been installed as the last one and brought GRUB with it. It has created four GRUB entries (1: eLive GEM+, 2: Windows Vista, Windows XP, Memory RAM Diagnostic). Every entry works fine, only when I select Vista then XP comes up and when I select XP then Vista comes up. So either the descriptions or the boot devices are swapped. I am not clear about the devices. Vista has one disk, eLive and XP share the other disk. This is my menu.lst:

At least with the “vmware player” bundle script, thunar looks like to want to open with the wrong application (mplayer), do some kind of launcher for it, with terminal and etc...

It would be nice to have a multimedia manager on the style of itunes added to elive repositories:
Its a while i’ve been using Songbird and it really works amazingly, much better than rhythmbox
At the moment is available as a tar.gz, but is a precompiled executable, just depack in /usr/local/bin/ and you are good to go, but it would be nice to have it added as a .deb to elive repositories.

After changing resolution or frequency with the Screen Resolution Setting box the tick mark doesn’t change it’s place. However it marks the proper option after closing and reopening this box.

It would be nice to have better volume control uupon installtion. Maybe a switch on the desktop or better support for laptop volume hotkeys.

Change icon of smb-browser trayed mode to the default (same) set for smb-brower in elive

ecomorph default hotkey for ‘scale’ is the same as for ‘expose’ which is Ctl-Alt-o. Shouldn’t it be Ctl-Alt-p?
After correcting this hotkey, scale doesn’t work until it has 2 instances of a same program to show and also rxvt windows don’t show up.

By default if you play a DVD and enable subtitles in VLC, they looks ugly as 2 hells, I think that this can be solved in the settings (advanced/all?), we need to play / beta-test a bit to see a solution for that

I use the USB image on a dual boot laptop.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think the install software is a shell script using a lot of dialog boxes.
It’s powerful, cute and original at this time where all others use the same software installer. Unfortunately it’s weak in ergonomy.

First blocking is about (non-)payment procedure. Use accounts, serial numbers, etc. Whatever but it’s not clear about those who wants to pay, those who already paid and those who won’t pay. Closing the web browser frame is not obvious.

Second is when I want to keep some partitions. Help looks like a choice. choice is always automatic when I want to keep control, etc. writing on my partitions is always frightening and the script is not very reassuring.

Last is hardware support and software options : no way to go back.

This is a Bug!!!! try to fix this issue in the Clock, whatever i do to set the time of the Clock in Elive, it get after a new start again wrong.

my “Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC” onboard ethernet adapter works fine with any other distro. Even in Debian. But none of the Elive it does not work. in Debian 4.0 R3 it worked. if Elive is Debian based it should work on Elive too. Right?

I burned the ISO of 1.9.18 and running the live cd i get to the languages and i can’t click on the ok, it just sits there with the white cursor blinking on the ok button and if i wait long enough it will go into the Verbose mode and then to the resolutions and i can’t move up or down or click on anything my mouse and keyboard don’t work, i have had no problems with mouse and keyboard on the other versions. My mouse is a Logitech LX3 and my keyboard is a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard

Black Bar at bottom of my screen. Covers up everything but launch bar, any window thats open (e.i. iceweasel, if i drag it to the bottom of my screen it covers it up)

i have tried restarting enlightenment, going back to original themes, wallpaper, etc.
to no avail.

i belive after i used eltrans and updated my system with this it did it.

I previously did the full install of Elive 2.9.9.5 via USB on a Macbook Mid 2009. And things were running smoothly. Afterwards, the grub would appear then it will freeze at Loading initial ramdisk.

I upgraded my system to 3.0.4 and after that, while I’m working, very often, session end and GUI restart into log screen (usually I logged in automatically, because I’m the only user of my computer).

It’s a critical problem to me because I lost almost all work in LibreOffice even if I try to save my documents very often.

Even while I was writing this bug report my system crashed again. I’ll try to reinstall 3.0.4 or even returns to 3.0.3 version.

Hoping this bug will be solved.

Chosing keyboard layout diferent from english switches direktly to it. And loging becomes inposible. I think there should be some hot key for swutching between english and other kayboard layout.

Please try hardly not to remove E16 from the next version of Elive, it is really simple, lite and very attractive to the Newbies. I like to much and really happy to have it so well configured under Elive. Its little buggy than E17.

I’ve installed Elive on an old Compaq P3 @700 Mhz, with more than 128Mb of memory.
The problem is that running as another user than root doesn’t allow the access to the elpanel.

The problem happened as soon as installed was completed, when I logged in with the user created during installation.
The ‘fine tune’ step seems to start, however I’m not able to confirm it does anything, neither if it ends after a while.

When trying to access an option in the elpanel, I get the prompt for the root account password.
If I enter a wrong password, the windows pops up again requesting the password.
If I enter the right password, the windows closes, but nothing happens.

I tried to login as root, and I have full access to the panel (even if I loose all my icons and bars).
I’ve tried to delete and create new users, but it still doesn’t work.

I’m quite a noob in Linux, but I don’t think I made a mistake (in fact I followed the installation step by step).
My drive is a 10Gb, split in one main partition of 7.5Gb for the system, and a 2.5Gb Linux-swap.
I’ve used the reiserfs format as suggested.

Please if I missed anything just tell me ^^
