Hello - I have just earlier tried to download Elive stable and was forced to make a donation just to do that. The download failed because my computer crashed and since I was using a DSL-Linux live cd the link to the ftp site has not been saved. I live on a very tight budget and can not afford to waste my hard earned money for nothing. I need access to the download without having to make another donation or at least return the money back to my account so that I can give it another try without making a unneccesary loss.

HP DX5150 SFF with NIC Broadcom BCM5751 Gigabit Ehternet Express does not work.

The device is shown with lspci but no lan interface with ifconfig

Tried to insmod tg3 module but not found.

Worked fine with GEM.

The free download of the installation module does not appear after waiting for many minutes on the site, in the donation section to download the installation.

Boot Disk Error when attempting to boot from ELIVE CD-R. I downloaded the ISO file to a CD-R, set boot mode in BIOS to CD ONLY and I get “BOOT DISK ERROR. PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER”. Tried putting it on one of my hard drives. Same problem. Any ideas my friends? I am running a home built machine with an ASUS M2N32-SLI deluxe motherboard and updated BIOS.

Greet you! I have some problem with grub of eLive. It cannot display other systems except for eLive. I have ElementaryOS Juno and Linuxt Mint 19.

Black Bar at bottom of my screen. Covers up everything but launch bar, any window thats open (e.i. iceweasel, if i drag it to the bottom of my screen it covers it up)

i have tried restarting enlightenment, going back to original themes, wallpaper, etc.
to no avail.

At first live boot on a pentium III 600Mhz medion model LT9399 (3D AGP 8Mo), asus L7000G)portable the screen is black with slight difference. Unable to see and to manage with installation when Ctrl+ALt+Tab change user seem to give the correct light screen but in a little while the system shut down....

Mouse speed REALLY slow for dell inspiron 510m when x is started..

To fix it, I needed to add:

I think that not having the”SHMConfig” is a bug in eLive, and possible having incorrect synaptics settings could be a bug in the synaptic driver.

But it could be possible to probe for specific laptop type, and set up decent parameters based on that.

sorry for an annoying bug! And close it if it’s too hardware specific..

Certian programs that are in the slider window “grey out” on a quick restart of Elive. I have seen Azureus and Firefox do this. This is all I know, try it out. Does anyone know a way to debug this? Thanks, later.

Try it out, I get two terminals directly over top of each other. I think some people might not have an “Ins” or Insert key, does anyone have a different default key that they use to bring up a term (x2) window?

Yesterday I installed Elive Revolution. The livecd worked without problems. But when I installed it, it stops after boot saying something like “VFS, invalid mount point (0,0)”.

The previous version of Elive worked well with my laptop.

I just installed Elive 3.0.3 yesterday. I’m using my WIFI connection without problem. I just updated with “apt-get update” and then tried to install “apt-get install gsmartcontrol”, but after key “s” as usual on any Debian based system, in console it shows “Err http://.... gsmartcontrol...i386.deb” ... “301 moved permanently”, so I can’t install the application. Is like it’s not on repositories.

Any idea to solve this?

I’ve just tried to use the Elive 1.7.9 unstable LiveCD version, but the X Window system doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried all kind of workable configurations for my monitor and even tried to boot with the “Video Problems” option. It doesn’t matter what i do, the message it gives me is the following:

(EE) No devices detected.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

Just for beeing more specific, i’ve used the EliveGem 1.0 LiveCD version and it works very well, on the same pc with the same especifications. Also, i’m using the 1.7.9 LiveCD version on a virtual machine and everything is just fine (but it’s actually another computer, i know).

Here are some especifications of my computer, where the graphical interface of 1.7.9 development version didn’t work:

I’m using the 1.7.9 LiveCD version on a VirtualMachine (VirtualBox OSE), with all internet features working, but the Elive Translator just doesn’t work telling me the following error message:

“You need an internet connection in order to make translations”

The same happens if i type it under the terminal emulator. It also doesn’t work if i use it with the sudo command. I choosed on the boot screen the Brazilian Portuguese language, and i’m very excited to help Elive in the translating process.
I’m not using this version of Elive on my host computer because of an issue that i’ve already related in another bug report.
Anyway, i’m waiting for this feature to be ready and i’m going to put my efforts on the translation process.

I am using suspend when I am not using my gateway computer. When I brought it back up, the sound was not working.

don’t have tty1,2,3,4,5,6
when I press < ctrl + alt + F2,3,4,5,6 > I just see a black screen with blinking cursor on top left ( no login ). Pressing < ctrl + alt + F1 > I see boot logs, but not login. ‘ps -A | grep getty’ gives me no results. In /etc/inittab tty lines are uncommented and the file was not modified.
version 1.9.31 upgraded with ‘aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade && aptitude dist-upgrade’ the problem was the same before upgrade too.
The problem/bug happen on my both pc desktop and netbook aspire1
