When trying to build an eap the icon selector confuses and piles the folders randomly, so that is hard to browse for icons: most folders are hidden by other ones..
moreover selecting an icon is possible only with double click and that opens gimp.

i tried to install cxoffice, and the installation goes fine, however no menu entry is created, even if everything works fine.
this happens with many programs and it is a pity

I’m absolutely unable to switch SMTP even I have two/three, thunderbird always takes the first one in que.Installing plugin with SMTP switch button does not solve anything..

CPU plugin works,but if X desktop is in dualhead version, it shows the right info only on one of them,on the other there is something between 1-2% of CPU consuptation (left number).And the measuring looks like this:80% / 0% Zero is on both screens(right number).What does meen the next number - 0 ? Using IceWeasel 2.0.0.3-1-2 (elive repository) extensions are forcedfully added for known fyletypes. Given a file filename.pdf, once downloaded it will be called filename.pdf.pdf, unles the user removes the extension in the file save dialog. I’ve seen the same behaviour with ppt, doc, tgz and other kind of files.
Unknown extensions are preserved with no problem (edj files).

This prevents installation on systems with this card.

Keyboard layout selection doesn’t work at grub menu

The eap file of Elitaire is wrong. The executable “Elitaire”, must be “elitaire”

Some feature taken from forexample gnome would be nice..

I would like to request a couple of items be added to the installer for ease of use.

• I use VPN to get into my home network, this would be a nice package to have installed already.
• The package installer seems straight forward, but when you choose to install the extra apps, where do they go? Did they get installed or just downloaded? Maybe some literature included as a help link within the installer would be nice, or an interaction from the installer to place downloaded items into the programs menu, even under one category like recent installs or something.
• E16 and E17 are very different in nature, but I would like to see some of the features combined. I like the raise up of the E16 on the bottom menu, but hate that it does not show battery consumption, Temperature and time. Is there a way to have the best of both worlds?

I can be the guinea pig for these changes if necessary. I think this is one of the better distros, so keep up the good work.

During my install of Elive from the development live cd, the text box came first, then the choice box came under it, hidden. I may have clicked the text box as the choice came up, causing this trouble. When nothing seemed to happen, I moved the box to find the choices underneath. Possible confusion, If the choice comes out beside and visible, no more trouble...

1. There are several windows in the installation of Elive GEM that has a “generic” name on the top. And would be really better if we could write a correct description. Examples:

• Many windows has “SELECTS ITEMS FROM THE LIST”. That’s a generic name and it doesn’t reveal the content of the window when you press alt+tab. For example in: “Select partitioning method”, “Choose partition”, “Choose filesystem”.

This is particulary annoying when you are doing other things while installing. For example I had many windows opened and I didn’t noticed that “SELECTS ITEMS FROM THE LIST” was the “Select partitioning mehotd”.

When the keyboard layout is changed from the elive panel, it is not changed on ttys. The layout is changed in X but the keyboard is always qwerty on ttys.

It would be useful to be able to choose a partition for /home without formatting it during the elive installation

after updating to unstable, /home/myuseraccount is gone, creating a new user works and after reboot new user is gone and old account is back
